Kleptocratic Oligarchs are using their wealth to subvert our democracy.  Let's act out together.

Use Public Libraries

Feed your mind, starve the corporatists.

The Problem

Media groups have spent over $10 million lobbying bills that protect your online privacy and security. Meta spent $8 million dollars in the first quarter of 2025 and has 1 lobbyist for every 6 members of congress.  Shouldn't you have a say with how your information is being used when you source media and entertainment?

Currently 83% of Americans use streaming services. And those services cost the average American family around $500.00 a year, conservatively. That is money you could be saving by using public libraries - an invaluable resource your tax dollars have paid for since the Boston Public Library became the first to be supported by general taxation in 1854.

The Act

Go to the Library!

Lower your annual entertainment costs and bypass the media machine while strengthening your community. Work to supplement 10% of your media and entertainment costs by using the Public Library.

Public Libraries offer education, magazines, books, movies, vinyl records, compact discs, computer access, and printing services in an accessible space.  Plus, the public library only tracks what you check-out, not your location or personal information.

Change your mindset on where to source your entertainment and knowledge while you invest in yourself and your community.

The Outcome

If every household lowered their subscription costs by just $15 per month or borrowed instead of buying one electronically read book a month we would reduce media corporation revenues by at least $650 million a year. You would also be reducing credit card revenue by $20 million dollars a year.

But wait, there's more! You'll get recommendations through conversations with a real person having the same interests as you. This the power that We the People easily wield.

The Positives:

You will find that your modern library has services you never considered like video and music streaming.  Plus, don't you just love the smell of old books?
